This series is so overwrought, it is hard to know where to begin.
The acting aren't bad, it's just that so many performances - ok, really it's just the lead female actor, it t is all over-the-top by a country mile, which one can blame either on the director, or writers.
So many stupid things happen - characters seem to purposely put themselves in danger without a moment's forethought - just rushing off willy-nilly wherever their dear little hearts tell them.
The central female character, a police lieutenant - if she'd been a lowly patrol- woman she'd have been fired the first time she opened her mouth - is so out-of-control - whether or not her child has been kidnapped - she would have been relieved of all duties, or at the very least, prevented from working on her own child's case. At one point, (spoiler alert!) her child is said to have been taken by her abductor to an airport, a city some distance from the Gendarmarie's jurisdiction. She just hops in her car and drives off by herself - no backup, no coordinations, no noting, and her supervisor, the captain in charge, does or says nothing to prevent her from doing so.
At another point, a large Swat team, in several vehicles, scream up to a house, sirens ablazing, where the perp lives, then hop out of their cars and try after all that, seemingly try to sneak around the house . . . or something just as ridiculous or stupid.
Every emotional scene has its last drop of sweat wrung out of it, until I wanted to throw a piece of crockery through my TV.
I don't know what to say about the the other comments, other than save your time, and go watch a movie you've already seen a bunch of times rather than wasting your time on this one.
Here's another spoiler alert - the kidnapper has his victim in his car, trying to escape detection, but they're just sort of driving along, and so uninvolved with the scene, it looks like they're on their way to buy some groceries.
And the show is even much worse than I've indicated.
