The show is a modern take on Pygmalion/My fair lady. The acting from the lead character Eliza is great. Her voice, mannerisms and pronunciations are spot on. The dialogue is witty, and the story is funny with just the right amount of depth to keep it interesting. The theme so far is dominated by the question of loneliness, how different people adopt different strategies to cope with it. The style does remind a bit of Suburgatory, a show that I enjoy.
I was just going to get the next episode when I realized...it was a pilot! The horror! I really love the show and actually rewatched the episode two times. Now I have to wait a couple months for another episode, and perhaps they won't even make a show out of it!? I hope it becomes an instant hit because it won me over.
