Fake and Annoying. Why?

I don't understand why they need the characters to interact with their partners and competitors the way they do. So much time to create tension and drama is wasted on this moronic crap. The show isn't worth watching because of this. The stupid fake drama makes the show so annoying as the premise is good and interesting but they ruined it. What's the point?

I've given it two stars as they go into the history and value of items which is the interesting side of the show.
