Having seen the first programme on Sky last night I am terribly disappointed with the result. After telling my family how much I enjoyed the novels, I and they were all expecting much more from the story than we got. What on earth have they done to the Book character Bob? now I know we are all free to visualise Bob differently whilst reading the novel but there is no hint in the book that Bob takes on the visual appearance and oral qualities of an English sounding aristocrat. I do hope that the characters evolve into more rounded and believable personalities over time as I found it very difficult to believe in any of them. I am just glad that I read the novels first.
