It's early days yet but I'm not impressed with Channel 4's coverage at all. The 3 extra channels are fine as you just get to watch the sport, but the main C4 channel all they seemed to do is waffle on and not actually show any sport in between far too many advert breaks. Also the studio is very poor and why they couldn't have used the BBC studio from the Olympics I don't know. It almost seems like they are nowhere near the action in the C4 studio.
There is some good coverage at least on Radio5.

1,
It's really frustrating, they were showing a recorded Judo match and between every round, they would go back to their studio and just waffle on for about 10 minutes and then go back to the Judo and then back to the studio and then back to the Judo data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Plus, the round up show on Channel 4 is like something off T4 with just endless talk unlike the BBC's late night round up show which was pretty good with the highlights
Overall, I'm sticking to the red button service and the IPC live stream
I was wondering that as well, I'm wouldn't be surprised if their studio is probably located at the C4 headquarters in the West End!

I've mainly just flicked between the 3 HD channels so far, and thats seemed OK. Just like the BBC ones but less of them. if ads or inane chat intrude I just flick over again and find anoterh sport for 5 mins
Sounds like I should stick with that setup
And Jon Snow does my head in. He really needs to calm down. Makes Lineker seem like a broadcasting titan !

We need to contrast what we get in the UK, with what NBC is doing in the USA. They have - wait for it- 4 x 60 minute highlight programmes. Oh, and a 90 minute show in mid September. That's it. No live coverage, no coverage of the opening ceremony at all.
Disability groups in the US are outraged.

on that note, NBC have defended themselves with a rather weak reason:

Watching the swimming live on More 4 and the girl they have inside the Aquatics Centre appears to be pretty useless in asking questions when speaking to the swimmers

Hannah Cockroft was phenomenal then. Blazed away from the field. Brilliant stuff.

Was at the stadium for the opening athletic session on Saturday and noticed the ex-BBC studio in the Olympic park sitting empty. We commented at the time that channel 4 lack the atmosphere of the games due to not being on site. Watching the commentators / analysts reaction after the events was a highlight in its self on the BBC.

C4 are using CBC's (Canada) studio from the Olympics in the IBC.I think 5 Live are still using their part of the original BBC blue container studio.
