Ah. Seems I got mixed up - but I guess him going out in the match after Federer was actually more expected! You often see this happen to these try hards. It happens in a lot of sports. They give their all when they want to. It's very unprofessional.

It's best that these serve volley folk get knocked out though as it ruins the games.

1 in 14 GS against a 3 other tennis players as good as him? give Fed a break a bit.

To win even one 1 GS with the likes of Murray, djok and nadal alive is no easy task.

Fed in his early days had no one to contest with and when Nadal came into the scene, Fed wasnt dominating all GS's as there was Nadal who could match him. now u have 2 others that can match him so of course it is difficult now.

you cant expect Fed to win half of the GS he plays in now.

He hasnt lost it. the competition and level of tenis has increased mate

Robson doing ****. come on!

Coffin Publish time 2-12-2019 21:16:39

Sorry..he hasn't 'lost it' but he's losing it

He is not as good today as he was 3-4 years ago. But as I say, that's natural. It's an observation rather than criticism

And no I don't expect him to win half the Slams...he will probably win 1 of the next 10

He will know better than anyone else. If he still feels he can compete (but not necessarily win) then he'll carry on

Feds was beaten not by a better tennis player but by a better player on the day, completely different.

Yes he might of lost a little pace but not enough to warrent people thinking hes doomed.

Hes def got a few more grand slams in him.

Lets be honest he was hardly played off the court and he was bring hes b game on that day.

Tennis favors the older players now too

Gwan Robson well done.

Well I have to say I love to see the Brits do well but I thought Laura Robson was a very lucky girl today.

Erakovic totally dominant up to serving for the match then completely threw it away. A wins a win but I'd say the Kiwi lost that rather than Robson winning it.

Great legs though (Robson) data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

True but she took advantage and stuck in there, good on her.

No point taking a lead if you crack under pressuredata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I generally don't like seeing Brits so well as they are some of the most boring to watch / blandest personalities in the sport. Not to mention the fact we'd have to hear about any victories like the 1966 world cup.

BUT

I do like Laura. She's a good player and she seems like a really nice person so I really want her to win!

PA77ULY Publish time 2-12-2019 21:16:40

I can't deny that and you have to be in it to win it!

Also agree with Soundburst. A lovely girl Robson.
