The picture and sound is terrible on BBC1 HD. I'm able to watch on RTE 2HD and it's far better. Spent about 5 minutes flicking back and forward and the difference is really noticeable.

Didn't watch it all but I thought the history of migration to the country was interesting.

That was a real nasty crash in the women's road race earlier! Really pleased she is okay as it was worrying when she didn't move!
Quite enjoyed watching Fencing unlucky not to get a first UK medal in that.
Should get one later with Beaty in the swimming

Effortless from Peaty - never in doubt.
Great swim from Carlin to get silver.

I'm enjoying some of the weightlifting more than I thought I would. The commentary is useful to explain all the machinations behind changing your next weight target to put your opponent back on the stage.

Watching as much of this as I can, but the time difference is a real bugger. It will be even worse in 4 years time. Just the way it goes I suppose!

Glad that Dutch rider was ok after that horrific crash in the women's road race. That looked horrendous live. The helmet saved her life I would say.

Getting a bit hacked off with the BBC coverage! Half an hour on one channel then changing to another for a bit so that they can screen eastenders or a must see documentary about canning beans!

Why can't they just say that BBC 4 (which nobody ever watches anyway) is Olympic coverage only for the next 3 weeks and be done with it?

What is really annoying is when you are watching something in blur-o-vision on 608 and half-way through you discover it is also being shown in HD on 114 or one of the main channels.

And why do they sometimes have nothing on 114 at all even though all 8 of the 60x channels are showing stuff?
