No idea where the Irish lottery funds go. I think Ireland has to aim to compete medal wise with the likes of Denmark.
Still.. more medals than India, a country with a massively bigger population. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

For those who remember the Olympics from 68-2000 .. will be gobsmacked at the amount of medals won .. yep it may well be down to the lottery funding in the main , but prior to that we sent our athlete's to Olympics with their arms and legs tied .. all we have done is caught up with the kind of funding other countries have enjoyed .. you still need the talent to turn the cash into medals .. how much money would be needed to turn our Footballers into WC winners .. most of the world resources .

And targeting specific sports such as cycling which bagged you 12 medals in total.
It's the right thing to do, not spread yourselves thin.

I have no problems with the funding. I'd much rather see our athletes supported well than some of the overpaid footballers.
