You've made a mistake. You've quoted the benchmark result for the Lenono Yoga Tab 3 PLUS, but you've quoted the price for the standard version. The plus, which is the good one, is more like £250.

Thank you for correcting me
Yes, you are 100% correct, my apologies!
It's what happens when your brain is getting fried looking at too many things!
The Lenono Yoga Tab 3 PLUS is £250 as you quite rightly say.
My Bad.

Yes, fully accept the Tab A is a budget device, and for the money, esp when on sale. Can't argue with what you are getting.

Unfortunately, for me, mentally, after looking around, I could not handle buying the Tab A

And I know benchmarks are not everything of course, however. I just installed Antutu on my Hudl 2, which I really like. Its tough as nails, has a glorious screen, and quite clean android.

Antutu Result:
Hudl 2 Overall = 57769
3D = 9826
UX = 19817
CPU = 21001
RAM = 7125

So, sorry, but as my current HUDL 2 is performing better than a Tab A.
For me, you can understand I'd not wish to Upgrade? To a Tab A

Dammit, why did they not make a HUDL 3 ?   data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Looks like I'm into the £250   range to get much better.

That said. The Lenovo Tab 4 Plus does seem pretty good, considering it's only £30 - £50 more than the TabA and appears to run quite well, albeit the battery life (standby) seems yet to be decided.

I play Motogp on my tab A 16 fine but it's about what you want from a tablet. The 8 plus was quick! But it's battery wasn't stellar by any stretch. Was it not for the issues I had though I'd still own one.

The Samsung lasts days of heavy usage.

A little deeper digging....
For an 8" Tablet, albeit for a few more £
The Huawei MediaPad M3
Really does seem to be ticking many box's according to reviews.

We all get wedded to our devices and think its always the best. But I am usingthe Lenovo Tab4 Plus 10 in. the one with the hi res screen, and I am getting a full days usage from itcirc. 12 hours . Frankly it is the best tablet I have ever had... I really enjoyed my Ipad 2 , which as you say was built like a tank, a game changer,and still works 6 years on,a little bit dicky with the digitiser after a fall and repair. I dabbled with Nook 7inch HD , which was nice,a Fujitsu 10 inch M532 , still working and in the possession of my wife,a Lenovo S8 F508 inch , a lovely device, which died a few months ago , and now this Lenovo Plus ...
Its shape does notagree with some, and were I right handed it would be more comfortable, but is really a powerful device.

May I ask.
Do you totally power down your Lenovo Tab 4 plus, or, more likely just let it go into standby, or put it into standby?

Reason I ask. As I said, was, when I had my iPad 1, I let the screen go off, into standby, and I could come back 24 hours later, and it had perhaps dropped like 1%.
Amazing.

My HUDL 2, which is a dam good little Tablet.
If I do the same, just in standby, it uses a fair bit, just sitting there doing nothing.

(I am going to test this tonight, and get an actual figure)
So I ended up deciding I'd power it down cold every night, which is fine, and I'm used to it. I just have to restart it from cold each night before my bed time viewing.

I'd be interested as to what the standby battery is like on your Lenovo tab 4

Wow that's a great score for an old cheap tablet. We have 2 Hudl2s, but unfortunately they're both dead (won't charge), which is why I'm looking at new devices. I expected the new models to be miles faster, I'm confused by such a small difference?

Damir seemed happy with the battery performance.

Since you're not into gaming:
The Huawei Mediapad M3 is good as a multimedia device.
The Len. Yoda Tab 3is a great multimedia device (great screen and speakers), but it's a bit heavy for sitting in bed with compared to the competition (due to it's unique stand).

dannnielll Publish time 2-12-2019 05:51:39

I am very happy with its battery performance. I can get a days browsing , recharge it in 2.5 hrs with its own lead and charger , or in 6 hrs maybe with a more old fashioned charger.I leave it on standby and don't notice much reduction in charge level overnight. Put simpley battery duration is now a non problem.
It has a 9.3AH battery.
Was without it for a few hours today as itupdatedits self to Android 7.1,that's a nice yeargift. A 1.3Gb download.

Just to be clear, I am referring to the Lenovo tab 3 plus 10 yoga ... What a mouthful ,high res screen 2560 x1600 and Snapdragon 652 processor

Tempest Publish time 2-12-2019 05:51:39

You can get new HUDL2 batteries for just £10 ish I believe
Well worth it.
And I think the charging circuits are cheap also.

Yes, it's shocking how far behind Android Tablets are.
One would hope they'be be up there with, if not the best, at least, reasonably modern phones.

I can't change my Hudl2 for a TAB A which performs worse.
My geek brain simply won't allow that! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

My Hudl2, as I said gives a score of 57769

So, really the HUAWEI MediaPad M3
Performance wise, anyway, seems the only reasonable upgrade right now
Unless you go into the high end Samsungs.

That said the Galaxy S2 did well also, but there seems to be different versions of it!
The T813 showing as good, but they dont seem to tell you that in the shop adverts
