Don't want to butt in ..but since you say watch ingvideo is particular interest. The yoga tab 3 plus 10 inch might be a better fit. . My reading is that the tab 4 is more general purpose whereas Lenovohave positioned the yoga 3 plus as a multimedia device.
Main differences
1. Faster processor the 652 is faster than the 625
2. The 625 is more frugal but the bigger battery on the 3 plus compensates
3. The screen in the plus 3 is much higherresolution and great colours and bright
4. The built in back hinge on the tab 3 is a bonus for watching in landscape.
5. The tab 3 has atmosas well and 4 speakers... any one who says that tablet sound is hi fineeds their ears cleaned but they claim better than most and they arecertainly loud..
6.   the tab 4 is a more upmarketstyledevice with its glass and fingerprint sensor. But the other is still stylish...

"Player 2 has entered the game"
Gahh...I've had a look and I like it, it's more than I was willing to spend, 249 is a bit more of a jump. I really like those speakers though. Have you received an update to Nougat at all? I'm also trying to find some info on the screen brightness, I'm used my Nexus hitting those big numbers and I know the Tab 4 Plus can hit over 400 nits.
Plus 637g sounds heavy data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 could be worth it though...

Thanks

I'maway from it today but I'm sureit has Android N . The sd memory cards needs to be one of the very fastones or it will not format as additionalmain memory. I tried it a few times with a class 10 but no joy but no problem with a ultra SanDisk..
For whatit's worthI went in to buy a Samsung s2 but then reckoned it was worth theextra... you should get it at about the same price point as the Lenovo tab 4 8 inch you were looking at.

Have to eat my portion of humble pie... Have checked and it has android 6.01. .... Now when I got it last month, it went through an extensive software update before allowing me do anything, except giving it access to the internet, so I assume that is the most up to date , software available to it.

No problem, thanks for confirming. Shame, I kinda like nougat. It seems Lenovo might not be updating it from what I read beautiful bit of hardware though. Thanks again

There would not seem to be any reason why it would not run android 7. And indeed some people have apprarently loaded it in. .. but other than keeping up with the neighbors, I am not sure that it has any major advantages.
I looked upthe Lenovo forum, and there are people taking very extreme positionsMy view is the vendor has a responsibility to ensure that the product works, and repairs any security flaws for a reasonable period of time say three years, but demanding updates to the entire operating system into what is in effect a new product is over the top.One buys a product as is , not what it might evolve into..

The split screen option on a 10" screen, especially with that resolution would be great....I would expect Leonovo to at least guarantee 1 OS upgrade, it's not a cheap device, it's a premium model for them, so that's disappointing. I may end up getting one anyway though. I like the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 but the speakers are sh*te and I don't think the CPU has the grunt I need data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

One thing I would say, my girlfriend has the Samsung Tab A 2016 10.1 and I think the screen is better than my Lenovo. Where Lenovo use IPS for their screens. Samsung uses their version called P-LS, the contrast is a lot better, blacks are especially deeper than my Lenovo. But yes the speakers don't compete but then headphones beat both so it depends what's more important. I'm not saying the Lenovo screen is bad but blacks are definitely weak when compared to the Samsung. I just didn't want a 10.1 inch screened device.
