Good point.
By the way, just wondering if the OP is monitoring this thread as, so often, people post up questions and then seem to disappear.

Don't like the Marmite comment, but otherwise you are spot on...The Lenovo yoga 3 plus , of which i am very fond, has stereo speakers , and a very good and loud speakers.... For a tablet nor a stereo system.
It is intended as an entertainment device and to be used in widescrwide mode... That's why it has the built in stand..there is nothing in its price range to touch it for screen quality ...
More importantly it seems to have hi Res audio... Cannot actually confirm that but ,it does appear to be, and is brilliant with earphones. The chip on which it is based the Snapdragon652 has a 192k\24 DAC.

Isn't that the very definition of Marmite
I think the unusual shape might not be appreciated by everyone.

I think I may have had marmite once in my life and that was twice to often...The shape of the Lenovo is great for placing on a table in landscape mode, it is pretty arkward for reading from Kindle while lieing in bed, .. I'm left handed and would want to hold it in my right and the heavy battery is badly off centre...

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I like the 9.7" size; I didn't really want anything larger. I do find it odd though that in the £300 or so price range in this size neither apple nor Samsung put the speakers at either end of theire tablets so that you get more logical sound distribution, and/or stereo sound, when watching videos, which are best viewed in landscape format. As they both do have two speakers they could hardly cost't cost any more to manufacture.
As for stereo bluetooth speakers, that was going to be my next question - namely are there such things? Alternatively are there pairs of speakers that can be linked to produce stereo sound (not just two speakers producing the same mono sound? Like tablets, manufacturers and reviewers don't make this at all clear. Whilst I would want a stereo bluetooth speaker or pair of speakers, I would still want stereo speakers (in landscape format) on my tablet, for portability convenience.
