Technosonic -Thomson 32" LCD OWNERS CLUB

i'm fed up of the 'other thread'

This thread has been started for members whom actually have the TV.

Mine is a 'assembled in CZ' no problems and running at 1368 X 768 and experimenting between 50 and 60 Hz at the moment.

mines a chinese one. cant fault it so far. picture through freeview is good, bit pixely if your very close but youre going to get that on a big screen. its fine from 2 ft and further. Dvd picture is amazing. Im well happy with this tele

Mine is made in China and unfortunately a little dissapointed with the picture.Ny main TV is a Philips 36" 9618 which is a fantastic picture but retail price was £1800 so unfair comparison. For the money it is a good buy and I would have trouble mounting the Philips on the wall !!!
The picture seems to have a slight purple tinge which I can get rid of by changing the color temp and backlight but still playing with alll the settings.
DVD though HDMI looks pretty good and Freeview via RGB scart is much better than analogue.

I actually get a better picture going through my media center. let me explain...

If I was to connect my CATV reciever Via RGB (Scart) to the TV the picture isn't as good as the setup below.....

CATV reciver -> JStech RGB to Svideo convertor -> Svideo -> Media Centre Hauppage 150 -> ATI video card -> DVI to HDMI lead -> TV

I think this is due to the fact that the image can be tweaked through the ati control panel within MCE and by using powerstrip I can also achieve 1368 x 768 @ 50 or 60Hz.

I have also made a few changes to contrast, brightness, color temp, backlightand PC preference for HDMI on the actual TV itself

I was dissapointed at first but having tweked the settings to death i am now over the moon by the quality...

Also, HiDef 720p running through the media center PC is superb!

The only negative for me is that there seems to be slight blurring using the DVI to HDMI on moving images. As I recall there was less using the VGA, I will do some more tests this weekend and keep you all posted.

Got mine yesterday spent hours last night untangling wires and sorting it out.

£400 absolute bargain.

data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Could do with some help on the hdmi front - I got a philips 5960 dvd player yesterday and have it connected by hdmi only.On the dvd player it allows you to slect hdmi outputs either auto or 4 settings (not near it now so can't rember what they are) upto 1080i.I had an issue when playing with these numbers last night that when I selected hdmi the tv would flick between hdmi and dvi - eventually I got it stable at 7??p (I think) but none of this meant anything to me.

I guess it couldn't display at some of the dvd outputs(may hunt out a cheap scart lead to assit me when I buggering about with settings).....

Once it was up and running SKYwas excellent and Ice Age 2 on DVD was simply stunning... data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Bought mine on the first week, so CK set.Great pic for money.Connected to ordinary Sky, so pic varies according to the channel.junked the roof aerial as pic in my area very poor.DVD pic via the Aldi 8000 is great. No ghosting or pixelated problems.Got the new metal and glass swivel stand from Ikea and looks the biz.Only thing i cann't quite figureout is how to get a widescreen dvd pic that does not look squashed.

have had a czech one for about a week, and im still uncertain about how to do things with it, im no AV geek. The tv feed (freeview) looks meh, and im having to use the 14:9 ratio to stop it from looking like crap

Only picked my China assembled TV up on Weds this week so am still messing with the settings.

Am fairly pleased so far, cant complain.

Ive got the same dvd player and the exact same happens to me. just keep forgetting to make a post about about. guess the tv doesnt like the input the dvd player sends it? does yours keep flickering to a purple screen?
