There is a motion option for photos like the Live Photos from the iPhone. It's smoother but no sound.

Great news

How do you rate Vodafone mate and would you recommend them?

Very tempted, got an iPhone 6s Plus and think I'm going to order the S7 Edge tonight and I know I'll most likely regret it

Whilst looking more into this phone and deciding to ditch Apple or not came across this:

Oculus’s Gear VR boss: Samsung Galaxy S7 beats the S7 Edge for virtual reality

Does anyone with any experience with the Edge screen from the S6 really notice this?

woah?? you're getting this instead of the iPhone 6 ? as a long-time devotee of iOS and long-time want-to-love android user, I can't see what this can offer someone to jump off the apple bandwagon, neither as a phone in isolation nor as a member of the android family. that said, the iPhone benefits i most rate these days are only relevant to those invested in the apple ecosystem, so it depends on what you're looking for from a phone, but i'd be most interested to know what features (or lack of) are making you consider a switch?

Shanew1705 Publish time 27-11-2019 22:48:47

Already have the iPhone 6s
Reasons for thinking about changing are:
I like the look of the phone in general
Fancy a change from iOS and giving android a go
Interested in giving the VR a go
Expandable memory in an SD card
Has more ram
Water resistant
The upgraded camera looks very decent too
And I'm just bored of iOS lol

fair play. a lot of your interests differ from mine considerably.
i'm getting tired of my current set up too but am way too invested in iOS and OSX so next my change may be a downsize
been on android for years too, been trying to force myself to like it for 6 years and happy to tolerate/enjoy (enjolerate) it as a 2nd phone but think perhaps a long-time iOS user may regret a cold turkey jump. i know i definitely would. have seen a few people happy with the switch but often ones who don't use it to its full potential (e.g. 7 installed apps, no related devices etc)
would be interested in how you get on if you do

Very tempted to ditch Apple for this but deep down I know I will miss the simplicity of how iPhones work & they do work very well. After my previous ideas of jumping from the iPhone to the Note series 4 times in total and it being a costly exercise I still ended up back at Apple.
The androids don't have iTunes style back ups etcand that Samsung kies is total garbage.
I also noticed I was getting charged for emoji's on android and when sending long text they changed to picture messages and charged for it.
3 x note 3's and 1 x note 4 then back to Apple in just over a year & half.
Just feel once I've paid £639 out and the novelty has worn off I'll be busting to go back to iPhone!!

I've just ordered an EDGE 7, (with complimentary VR headset), sim free from the Samsung website. It's a birthday present for my gf but I'll have to test it out first.... Make sure it works! Should be a massive jump from her S4. She takes loads of photos with her current phone, so she should love the 12mp camera with dual pixels on this one. Plus UHD vids of family/hols etc.
