Well the Thrustmaster is a beast, the FFB is lovely and feels night and day better than the G27. The pedals aren't too bad and something i can happily live with for a while.
Overall build quality is very impressive, everything is built to last. Its like a tank.
Also bought the shifter, nice being able to run H pattern or seq, again super build quality. Thrustmaster have upped the game in the section they are fighting in.
Next job will be to possibly look at the GT Omega cockpit as clamping to a desk is a bit of a pain and not ideal long term.

Anyone built their own cockpit? If so how did you go about it?
I'll either build one or just buy one of the GT Omega setups.

Hoping someone on hear can give me some advice....at present I have an xbox 360, with a decent racing set up.....racing chair, projector screen etc etc and a Mad Catz ffb racing wheel....which, ok I know isn't the best wheel on the market but I personally like it.......my question is this....if I invest in a high powered gaming PC can I in anyway use this wheel?? I've heard about the 'Microsoft wireless receiver' which I've read is for using 360 controllers on a PC....but does anybody know it also carries the force feedback over as well?? I don't really want to shell out on another wheel!!! As well as a high end PC!!! And whilst on the subject of me coming from console to PC.....I Generally only ever play the F1 games from codemasters......will I notice a difference between the 360 version and the PC version of F1 2012?? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

The force feedback works with my xbox steering wheel with the wireless receiver so I'd imagine it would

In my opinion there's very little difference between Codemasters games on Console and PC (most are ports at best) BUT... There are considerably BETTER racing games on PC you could enjoy - iracing, Rfactor, and even some fantastic 'oldies' GTR EVO for example.
Personally I'd buy a decent but not über spec PC and a decent wheel like a Fanatec GT2 and Clubsport pedals (you'll never look back)

Graphically the codemasters F1 games will look much better on PC if you are gaming at 1080p @ 60fps. Much crisper and smoother. There are also many mods for the PC version that add high-res textures and other enhancements.
As for the MadCatz wheel via the wireless receiver - I guess it should be ok. Not sure about the FFB.
My Fanatec wheel is 360 compatible but the manual says connect it to the PC via USB which is what I always do.

You don't need a high end PC to play codemaster games but then it depends on what immersion you're looking for. The problem I have found is that the decent racing sims I've had my eye on are taking bloody ages to develop (Assetto Corsa and PCars). These games look beautiful to warrant a decent spec gaming PC but by the time these games come out I'll probably be issued a bus pass by the Government!!!!
If you play games like F1 imo stick to the consoles as there isn't much difference when it comes to visuals.

Normally cheaper on the PC. I paid a fiver for f1 2012. And you can't have eye infinity on consoles

They look much better on PC and generally come with some decent graphic options.
