Racked up some miles with this over the weekend after buying the Scandinavia and Eastern Europe DLC. Almost to level 18 and have expanded my trucking empire to 3 garages and 4 other drivers.

Also made a cool discovery at the weekend, when I stumbled across the Volvo HQ / Plant near Gothenburg, ended up taking a job from their transporting a trailer of Volvo’s to a dealer.

Talking of employing drivers - not sure if there is a right/wrong way to go about this? Will the quality of the trucks you buy you drivers affect their income? I’ve bought 3 basic DAF’s and I’ve also given my pimped out 750bhp Volvo to my best driver.

After ditching my Volvo last night, I’ve now changed to a top of the range 680bhp MAN which has a nice interior and great visibility but doesn’t sound as good as the Volvo both from an engine and (bizarrely) indicator point of view. It also didn’t have the best of starts either, carrying a shipment of Chlorine, I managed to roll it whilst going too fast around a bend of the motorway just a couple of mins after departing from Munich. //static.avforums.com/styles/avf/smilies/facepalm.gif

Think I may need to upgrade to a 6x2 longer wheel base even if that does mean losing the sporty side skirts and larger fuel tanks – have also had to put the speed limiter function back on for the time being as that incident effectively cost me 15k (damage repairs, recovery, delivery fines) out of the 60k I was getting paid.

you were getting paid 60K? how in the hell did you manage that?I just bought my 1st lorry (it is daft i know but i do not like taking loans out so earning my money 1st)but even with my own lorry i am earning tops of 10k per job, with around 38 quid a mile if i am lucky.

When I was levelling up I put the experience points in long distance (all but maxed out now) and high value cargo, ADR (Hazardous cargo) and fragile cargo.

The 60k jobs (well technically only 59k so far) are the ones that are long distance such as UK to Poland with 2 of the above cargo types. Last one I did was Explosive and Fragile - you can tell by the icons next to the job on the freight market.

Does everyone use a steering wheel with this game?
I only have a 360 controller and was wondering how others have it setup if they use it!

Ive a G27 i use with h-shifter, bought for this game a few years back. Great wheel for this as the separate shifter also has a load of buttons.

Before the wheel i used kb/mouse, the mouse worked pretty well for steering after some practice.

Use a 360 pad too even though I have a very decent wheel and pedals setup. The appeal of this game (and ATS) is the laid back, relaxing experience it offers and I find kicking back with a pad the better way to achieve that. I will use the wheel from time-to-time though.

I have to agree great for just relaxing and playing easily.
Did you assign any buttons on the controller or did you just plug and play and use all the default ones?

Jamezinho Publish time 27-11-2019 05:26:30

Custom assignments mostly. Obviously use the keyboard as well.

Yeah i use my Steam Controller with this game but previously used a 360 pad.I have tried it with my DFGT but cant be arsed to set it up most of the time. The pad makes the game very pickup and play.
