Interesting results from GamerNexus. I'm running Vulkan on my 1080Ti as that was the default and it seems to be from their testing the better performing API. It's also interesting to see that they believe the 1080Ti is under-performing at the moment in RDR2 with their expectation against other cards, so maybe it'll get a boost from optimisation in the future? Anyway, for now it works really well for me at 1440p so I'm happy.

indeed... and whilst i may be trying to tell Our Years nan how to suck eggs..... i would say if using afterburner, dont rely on just upping the numbers, I got far more out of my 1080ti by manually adjusting the overclocking curve, which is a tiny bit more faff but worth it, and once it is done you can save the profile.
there are detailed guides on how to do it (until my 1080ti i had simply upped the numbers and let the software choose how to do it)

just dont go too mad upping the voltage, see what you can do at stock voltage 1st then maybe up it a little bit. (that is how i do it anyway, mind you i am not an extreme overclocker.I am happy to just have a 1080ti which can run under benchmark load at a consistent 2ghz and not need to throttle, which is nice but not massive... other more experienced overclockers would get much more i am sure out of my card).

The main thing however is that going to mad can have an adverse affect even if it doesnt crash., if your card gets too warm it throttles down anyway thus negating any overclock... it is just finding that balance between a high enough voltage to keep it stable at a given speed, but keeping your temps low enough to stop it getting too hot and throttling back.

edit.. sorry this is a RDR thread, i got carried away on a tangent.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Most Important Graphics Options - Every Setting Benchmarked

It has been pretty good apart from when I went to a small town last night where it dropped to around 50fps on occasion. A bit odd as it didn't seem to be much more intensive than other areas.
This will be very useful for optimising the setup.
