Coca cola braised spare ribs is authentic chinese food?
Lol I really like you enthusiasm mate and I truly hope this works, if it was (a lot) cheaper I would seriously consider it

When I lived on Tyneside many years ago there was a Tex/Mex restaurant that used to marinate their meat in Coca Cola and it tasted great. I only found out what made it taste so nice when a friend of mine went there for a job

I agree, they do cater for western tastes but also do some pretty (what I would consider to be) oddball (authentic?) stuff too...although some of it tastes pretty good...and some pretty awful!
Braised Shark Fin - not very nice
Sea Cucumber and minced Pork - way nicer than I expected
Pig intestine with Spring onions - on the fence, it was okay
Pig's Maw with Chilli Sauce - Not for me
Ox Heart, tongue and tripe with Chilli and peanut sauce - awesome!

Seriously, all the best.Since you've clarified a little more, then yes wealthy people may pay £50 for an "authentic" (coca cola?) chinese experience, so i hope it goes well.As stated, the tight-wads at AVF only splash out on electronics data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

If you can buy coca cola in China then it can be an authentic ingredient in an authentic (modern) Chinese recipe. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Authentic is not necessarily the same as ancient/traditional data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Having seen your menu, I'd love to try it for the experience, but you'd have to promise to bring a portion of Beef and Black Pepper sauce for me, and a Special Combination with garlic and chilli for my wife.........just in case data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
