Yeah, a bit of thread revival.
Home alone and bored so I thought I would have a go, step-by-step as it occurs, errors and all. I've only done it once before and I don't intend putting any manual handling into this.
Measured out the ingredients as per Paul Hollywood then closed the book. From here on I'll wing it from what I remember of the TV shows I've seen.

I did a white farmhouse loaf the other night (not from a bread machine). Came out well.

A good tip to get a good rise is get some steam in the oven. Use a water spray or a little tray of boiling water in the oven.
I actually do the rising in the oven. Put the oven on minimum for 10 mins. Then turn off and keep door open slightly. Makes a good proving area.

Shouldn't you let it rise again in it's final format before placing it in the oven?

Erm, I don't know. I have also just noticed my previous attempt further up the page where I clearly did something wrong and have done nothing different to address it this time. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
