Just made a lovely cheese, onion, garlic, mushroom and sundried tomato loaf (with a little basil and rosemary). Tastes as good as it looks.

Ingredients
300g Strong bread flour100G Plain flower1tsp Yeast1tsp Salt1tsp Caster sugar300ml Hand warm water1 Sprig rosemary12 or so Basil leaves50-100g Cheese1/2 Red onion8 or so Mushrooms2 Cloves of garlic4 or 5 Sun dried tomatoes Method
Warm water to hand temp and add yeast, sugar and finely chopped rosemary, basil and crushed garlic. Leave for 10-15 mins until starting to foam.Put flour and salt into mixing bowlAdd water mix to flour mix and stir/kneed by hand or mixer for 15 minutes.Chop mushrooms, onion and sun dried tomatoes but not too finely (leave a few sliced for top) and add to dough and mix for a minute or 2 to combine, then leave to rise for an hour covered with cling film.Empty mixture into loaf tin. Preheat oven to 190c.Cut cheese into 1cm square chunks and push them into mixture (leave a few for the top).Leave to rise again for 30 mins or so.Put remainder of cheese, onion, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes on top.Put in oven and cook for 25 mins.

My parents bought me and my wife a Kenwood K-mix for Christmas. I had been dropping hints that we needed something more robust than a hand mixer.
I have made bread from scratch for a while, I used to knead by hand. Then used a hand mixer with dough hooks. Now just chuck it in a bowl and let the K-mix and dough hook do its thing. Wish I had bought one years ago. It certainly takes the effort out of kneading.
Just knocked up a large bloomer with poppy seeds. Went down a treat as when the family asked what was for tea, I said 'bread' and every single one of us has a couple of slices of bread and butter. It was filling enough for a meal. Just enough left over for toast in the morning.
I think I am going to get some good use out of this stand mixer just from the bread baking.
And my wife bought me a Paul Hollywood book on bread, so a few more recipes to try out.

Basic recipe, 10 mins in the mixer, 3hrs proving (forgot/nap), straight onto a tray and into the oven at 220C for 35 mins. Oh, with a bowl of water too.

Seriously though, the gas seems to have ended up at the top of the loaf, hence the denser structure as you go down to the base.

Looks that way in the pic but it isn't soggy.

Yeah, I think I was supposed to kneed it again after the prove but I hastily skipped that part. That may have made a difference but it's still light throughout.

If I'm honest with myself it's a better loaf than the breadmaker and not much more messing. Gonna have to try this again.

I had a bread maker years ago and never really liked any of the loaves I made.
The stand mixer is great, chuck it all in, turn on, make a cuppa, check AVForums, come back and its kneaded.
