well, I've had gordons and wasn't what I was expecting (from what I recall) - as when I do mine I add sugar so it becomes a liquer and you can drink it straight - can't remember if I was able to drink this one straight tho...

tho, that's probably of no use at all data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I've not tried it but Sipsmith gets a good rep but it's £24/ half litre.

Just had a quick look on eBay and the Sloes seem cheaper than when I last looked, £2.75/lb plus £2.85 postage. That should make a litre if you help them along by pre freezing them.

This would be my preference over the Gordons Sloe I tried.

I've just started a batch of Blueberry Gin, within a few days it is already much darker than Sloe Gin, so curious how it will turn out data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I once tried blueberries in vodka. Nice colour but not much flavour. Let us know how it work out.

Has anyone infused gin with Rhubarb, and is it the same method as using berries and you just put it in the jar raw

Just moved into a country location and found loads growing in the hedgerows. We managed to pick about 3.5 lbs of Sloes so decided to make some for the first time this year.
We wanted to get a demijohn and do them in one go but local shop had sold out so made 6 x 75cl bottles worth last weekend. Filled the bottles half with Sloes that we have frozen overnight, a few ounces of sugar and topped up with gin. Been told we can add some sugar syrup after decanting if not quite sweet enough
Just turning them every other day and hoping they are ready for Xmas data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7                                                                        https://www.avforums.com/attachments/gin-jpg.632908/

the last lot we made - we didn't add sugar at the start - but added a sugar syrup at the end...

We thought that data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Its a split Sloe

Picked 6KG of Sloes a couple of weeks ago.
Now brewing nicely with 2KG still in the freezer.
Not much colour in those botlles, mine are dark red within a couple of days!
