So on really hot days (i.e. about 2 weeks a year in the UK!) is it worth putting some water onto the panels with a hose to cool them down?

Possibly but you do know we'll be in the middle of a hosepipe ban then don't you? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Where would you have to place the mirrors for them to be able to reflect the light onto the PV array? Can't see how this can work...

When you talk about mirrors and solar energy do you mean like the solar towers in Spain?

I have a large flat roof right in front of my PV array, could be perfect for me data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

You've got me there!

Brilliant idea might not be quite as good for the PV application. For it to reflect sunlight onto an area the device would have to be north or northwest of the target! If the taret was a PV panel this would be facing southish towards the sun, so all I could target would be the back of it........back to the drawing boarddata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

A nice couple of weeks of sun.

Out of interest, how long did you guys have to wait to be paid after submiting your quarterly generation meter readings?

I submitted a reading on 31st January, and am still waiting. I'm with EON. Is that normal?!

dangermat Publish time 26-11-2019 04:04:44

I submitted our meter reading at the end of February and nothing's happened. I e-mailed our supplier the reading and got not reply, so I phoned up and gave it to them again. Advised that it could take 45 days for the payment.

I'm with E.ON as well.

Well that's March over and done with. Great month, especially the latter end for generation data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

PVGIS estimated figures for March were 262kWh, my generations figures ended up at 385kWh so much higher than anticipated at 147%

Record day was 26th March with 23.47kWh
Worst day was 9th March with 1.8kWh
Average for March is 12.423kWh
96.25kWh per installed kW

324 kWh for me.

Best day was 19.3 kWh, average was 10.4 kWh.

97.73 kWh per installed kW.
