I am not in the dark, it is these people who think that man is the one that is changing the climate that are in the dark.

The recycling part I do agree with to a certain degree. when our council first started the recycle service, the majority of people in this street used it, over the last 2 years I have noticed less and less people putting out recycling bags on the Wednesday. I suppose I have got the same attitude, if other people can't be bothered and some of these people stay home all day, then why the hell should I. what will happen next year I don't know, our rubbish collection is changing, there was talks about wheely bins, something I hope they don't introduce. council is being tight lipped on it, but then that is what they are like. I still can't see it making much difference mind you, people will just put all their rubbish into one bin, living by myself, I can do that even if they collect fortnightly.

As for lighting, I doubt turning off the lights made any difference at all, but if it makes you feel any better, then by all means carry on.

No, in fact it demand went up

njp Publish time 26-11-2019 03:59:30

I suppose it was inevitable we would get round to this again...

The evidence that Man is responsible for changing the climate (at this period in history) is compelling.

Your belief to the contrary is nothing more than wishful thinking.

Well, here we are - talking about our environmental impacts, all because of Earth Hour, and to me, that is the point of it all.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

It is just scare stories and I and a lot of other people don't believe it either and there is not a lot you can do to change our mind,
climate change is natural, it have been going on since the earth was formed and will continue long after man have left, until the end of time.

What you believe is up you, the same way as what I believe is up to me, it is just another money making scam, but it is a waste of time arguing about this, because we both believe different things.

ad47uk Publish time 26-11-2019 03:59:33

Talking about it is no good, at the end of the day, we can talk all day about it, but it is not going to do anything, if as you believe that we are the ones that are changing the climate, then surley doing something about it is better than talking about it?

The problem here is that you got to get everybody on your side and that is never going to happen, you will always have people like myself who are either non-believers or sceptics. Sounds like a religion, I suppose in some ways it is.

NeilH Publish time 26-11-2019 03:59:34

It is absolutely NOT.

It's a load of fashinable clap trap spouted by frustrated socialists who have nothing better to do. It's the new religion; a belief rather than a set of incontrovertible facts.

There are at least as many reports (coming out daily at the moment) to disprove your facts, as there are reports in favour of your Emperor's New Clothes nonsese.

The Emperor's New Clothes - a pretty appropriate analogy as it too is a much loved fairy tale.

You are indeed at liberty to believe whatever nonsense you want, but I do wonder why you bother hanging around in here. Surely you must get bored with telling us about your ever-growing collection of incandescent light bulbs?

njp Publish time 26-11-2019 03:59:36

Would you like me to explain to you the difference between religion and science?

But naturally you can't be bothered to provide us with a link to any of these "reports"...

NeilH Publish time 26-11-2019 03:59:36

Yes please, it would be a most interesting learning experience for you to educate me.

Do you want to get into a Mexican standoff of linksmanship?

It's all good fun.
