I hope Labour or LibDem get something going to oppose the Tory Party. The last time the Tories ended up with a huge majority we ended up with Margaret Thatcher - not a problem for her first term, but the arrogance and resulting devastation of deregulation, privatisation, poll tax and war with the miners left a lot to be desired during the second and particularly her third term in office.
Do not want to see that sort of belligerent and rough-shod methods of politics again.

The miners were attempting to hold the country to ransom and bring down our elected government.It was a bloody good thing that the government broke them.
Reregulation and privatisation under Thatcher seems to have been a raging success too.Living standards, home ownership and share ownership increased dramatically under Thatcher.
Was MI5 surveillance and mobilisation of the Met absolutely required? Thatcher acted more like her mate Pinochet here.

It was an illegal strike, supported by violence and intimidation against those that wanted to work, attempting to bring down an elected government.
Given the level of violence, intimidation and even murder that occured are you suggesting that using the Met was wrong?

It wasn't simply a black and white, good vs bad issue ... regardless of the strike's illegality, there was the big picture of the future of mining communities with the announcement of the closure of 20 collieries with the loss of 20,000 jobs. The govt branded Scargill a liar when he claimed they actually planned to close 70, but we now know he wasn't, after the release of cabinet papers showing Thatcher's NCB hatchet man MacGregor planned to close 75.
You appear to have sympathy or sentimentality now when the world is moving on, but not then?
