Post conflict and the lack of planning and the arrogance of west that people of Iraq would or could embrace democracy after decades of brutal rule which had been supported by UK and USA. I'm sure if this had worked out differently and well for Iraq, Blair would have his fine legacy.

And that is the crux of the matter. Blair's aims (but not his reasons) were to get Saddam out and install a new government. Had the mission been successful, then we would not be discussing it now.

In Germany, the Allies actually ran the government of the respective occupied sectors. They didn't leave it to the native population.So the invaders and conquerors assumed the responsibilities of the state. So yes, it wasn't colonisation but it also wasn't whatever the fudge Iraq was.
Agreed, but it was an enforced regime change without colonisation.And hugely successful with both countries having very stable governments.
