Well, they could have added more to the national debt by lifting the public sector pay cap. But who would that benefit, other than Corbyn voters?

I’m sure if Labour do ever get in, you’ll get just what you asked for with their first budget data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I haven't been predicting it for 20 years. I'd have to have been a pretty clued up 16 year old to have started doing that in 1997. I'll forgive you for being blind about the serious fractures within the Tory Party over Europe that could cause a major split. Note I use the word could. The Government is on it's last legs, how the Tory Party responds to a loss of power is likely what will decide if it limps on or dies a political death like the Liberal party of old did after being in a coalition.

Well forgive a slight exaggeration for dramatic effect, but the point stands. You continually overlook the fixed term parliament act in your eagerness to see a Marxist government installed, but aside from that, Labour are even more split on Europe than the Tories, their voting is all over the place.

That's an absurd suggestion.

Debt peaks this year, and the deficit reduces every year, even with the reduced growth forecast.

The bond markets would be far more likely to turn on a government that recklessly borrowed to fund day to day spending.

So, some ok, some not so ok, lots of wishy washy non committal ideas and some pretty pointless announcements too. Pretty much what everyone was expecting I guess.

Indeed. Always amusing when those with limited knowledge profess to understand Bond markets.

House prices up, benefits frozen - what's not to like?

Typo?
