As you don't need a licence for radio, you should ask for your money back data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

well, I guess its like anything that belongs to all of us .We are responsible for it and a jolly good thing to.The BBC free from any commercial pressures able and able to cater for wide range of tastesat a very affordable subscription.Beats any of the competition as well

True but that's the nature of the licence fee thus BBC 5 live is financed by the fee. Hopefully my contribution enables other to have concessions that are available, so they to can enjoy BBC content, Eastenders if they so wish. And compared to 5 live commercial counterparts it's far superior program. Why would I ask for refund, that would be like killing the goose that laid the golden egg. Reckon some have price for everything and value nothing.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I have often slagged the BBc off for appearing to side with Thatcher and her successors, but the fact it tries to appear unbiased and not overtly left or right wing means it will always attract criticisms from either side.Similarly, the Guardian is thought of as a leftie newspaper but to me it is slightly left of centre.A few contributors like the excellent Owen Jones are obviously to the left but most of the rest are Blairites at most so not that left at all

The way I look at it. Me and my family get great value considering how little the license fee is. I have no issue with it at all, other than I wished I took a different career path. Radio 2 seems to pay extremely well.
