Agreed Nigel,These are normal Police more used to dealing with the tourist who has lost his wallet. To be asked to confront a crazy terrorist is something else. Most normal police don't even have the training for that sort of thing.

I heard on the radio yesterday that they were armed police so should have been able to deal with such threat if that's true.

But they carry sidearms as a minimum.

Presumably they will only use them against defenceless people.
