It's on my list of things to do. I think Parliament needs to be better promoted as a tourist attraction, and they are at least starting to use various parts of the Palace for public and private events.

Was just coming to comment about this - read it on the BBC and thought it was a wind up. Absolutely pathetic (and I say that as a resident of Scotland).
I don't think you can be too harsh on the SNP here. It clearly is in the Scottish national interest to keep England on restricted hours - if nothing else it ensures those in the borders may spend more in Scotland. And from the SNP perspective it serves as a very visible statement on the inadequacy of the Westminster system, i.e. it is slow weak it can't even agree a few extra hours opening times on a Sunday.
The only weakness it shows is that the SNP can wreck the vote on English opening hours- simply because it can.
Well demonstrated SNP! However they are kind of shooting themselves in the foot.
The SNP thrives on differences between England and Scotland - the more there are, the more independence becomes less daunting as everything can be branded as "already different". So English alignment with the Scottish law simply wasn't in their interests. Furthermore by acts like this they can wind up some in England who will blame Scots (rather than nats) and stoke up resentment on both sides. Its a win, win for them.
I suspect we'll see a lot of this over the next few years.
But can those differences be maintained after independence. I am not talking about no cost things like Sunday opening, but the ones that cost money.
Like free student tuition fees and prescription charges?
Who knows? The nationalists say yes but I suspect the answer is 'no'. But, from the SNP's perspective, they won't care by then.
The SNP seems to be a 'victim' party now.
