I think there have always been nasty, angry people who will look to blame anyone else but themselves.Unfortunately, more media attention for formerly fringe groups like Britain First (EDL) has encouraged those people to be more vocal in their feelings that were previously kept more 'underground' within their own peer groups.

Exactly. criticism of the Israeli state has now become accepted as being anti-semitic. There's a comparison to be made of those who wish to shutdown criticism of the State, unfortunately that also now fits the description of being anti-semitic.
