OK....
If you thought that UK politicians were bad then thank your stars you dont live in the US..AOC making a complete arse of herself again - she should really stick to bartending. Loved her response to being told that entering the US illegally was... err...illegal - "OK" data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 It's the summer holidays, are you sure there isn't an Air UnderBridge&Breakfast you might fancy to take a break ? Do you feel better now you have got that off your chest? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Well that was pretty delicious to watch. What did she say after the clip was conveniently stopped at “ok”?Looks like the usual Pro-Trump spin.
Any reason why you’re doubling down on her. Is it because she upsets Trumpy? UN Article 26 - Freedom of movement
"Each Contracting State shall accord to refugees lawfully in its territory the right to choose their place of residence and to move freely within its territory subject to any regulations applicable to aliens generally in the same circumstances. Article 31 - Refugees unlawfully in the country of refuge 1. The Contracting States shall not impose penalties, on account of their illegal entry or presence, on refugees who, coming directly from a territory where their life or freedom was threatened in the sense of article 1, enter or are present in their territory without authorization, provided they present themselves without delay to the authorities and show good cause for their illegal entry or presence.
" I think they were both correct.AOC was making the point that the US signed up to a UN treaty that does not permit punishment of asylum seekers who enter illegally.
Homan was making the point that the US Supreme Court disagreed. Now I'm not an expert but my take is that Homan is correct that the US is acting lawfully based on US law, AOC is correct that the US is violating it's UN treaty responsibilities so in breach of international law.
I've looked up the UN law so know AOC is correct but I'm unsure which Supreme Court decision Honan in referring to. More whatabouterydata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Yep, we don't have a racist rapist in charge, yet. It's whataboutery to ask what she actually said when the clip was selectively cut, or it's more whataboutery to mention the fact that Trump doesn't like here, as evidenced by his recent run of tweets?
Considering Trump and his base live off the "Fake News" mantra of anything they disagree with, it's hilarious that you then share a deliberately cut video to point the finger at someone else.
