Seems like a cynical move to win over voters in the next round. Surely people won't fall for that?

Ollande supporting her opposition also seems very strange...

krish Publish time 26-11-2019 00:53:59

Why strange, it is his former minister, and aren't all the first round losers now also supporting her opposition? And they probably all don't want a Nazi-adjacent President.

She can still be voted for, opposite of UK in that France actually elects the leader of their country.

Well we have a place in France and have just returned after spending a week there.Given it looks almost certain the un-United Kingdom is about to become a dictatorship we are seriously looking at living in France full time.

Whatever people in the UK may wish to believe, France is like a breath of fresh air, there's optimism about life and about Europe too.Their social model is so much better than ours so what's not to like.

Every time we get off the Chunnel and start back up the motorway we both express our dismay about how run down everything looks in the UK.Pot-holed roads everywhere you look and a general air of neglect.

Didn't she also drop her surname on campaign material ... so just Marine, like some pop star

Bl4ckGryph0n Publish time 26-11-2019 00:54:04

His policies now seem rather far from that failed socialist experiment from Ollande. And looking at the homeless situation in France and the race tensions, lets not pretend that the left did a good job there...
