Change UK are the ones advocating the status quo ironically enough.

LOL!
They've blown it by sticking to the same old. Surely the whole point of being a party of change would be to have worked with others on common issues and not do what all the others tend to do and not cooperate.

They've lost their opportunity to be relevant, and won't even achieve the modest success of the SDP who had a high point of 11.5% of the vote in the 1983 election, falling to 9.7% in 1987 and their merger with the liberals in 1988.
It's hard to see where they go from here in the medium term other than to either also merge with the Libdems or disband.
I guess their one hope of survival is if they do better than expected in the EU elections and attract more MPs on board.

Agree though I don't see them doing well in the EU elections. The showing the Lib Dems got in the local elections would, I think, see them as the natural place for the remain vote.
They fluffed their lines at the first hurdle. Lib dems need to find a charismatic leader though if this current upsurge is nothing more than a small spurt. To still be reliant on VC is not great. A decent opposition party (whomever that might be) is needed as much as anything else IMO

Looks like Chukka is starting to think about a merger reading between the lines.

... or an alliance ... wasn't there already a SNP-Plaid-Green alliance?

Alliance with what? What is Chucky bringing to the table?

A number of sitting MPs. But that's it. They have no base, no surge in support, no popular policy platform. Just a short term boost to LD MP numbers.
