As per thread title...data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 it appears the Americans are re-assessing who they support. In fact they are talking about assisting Assad.

John Kerry...'made no call for Mr. Assad’s resignation, a notable omission for Mr. Kerry, who has typically insisted on it in public remarks. Instead, he spoke of Mr. Assad as a leader who needed to change his policies.'

The Free Syrian army are pretty livid!
The Free Syrian Army who has lately quit fighting, joked bitterly about American policy one recent night in Antakya, Turkey. “This is how the Americans talk,” he said. “They say, ‘We have a red line, we will support you, we will arm you.’ They do nothing, and then after four years they tell you Assad is the best option.”

Couldn't make it up!

In the view of evidence it is probably the right decision, just a pity they didn't do any due diligence in th first place before just thinking Assad = Putin, or Rebel Alliance = Good or whatever pathetic notion they had.Would have been better if they just stayed out, but after Libya there was a 'America fudge Yea' high to chase.

Hopefully a Pincer from the West in Syria, East from Iraq and North and South from other countries can drive ISIS out and cut them off.Sadly their ideology will continue so it requires Sunni and Shia forces to work together and destroy ISIS otherwise they'll be a glorious martyrdom to Muslims of a more 'conservative' persuasion elsewhere.

Well if Israel is allowed to get away with it why should it apply to next door.?

Philly112 Publish time 26-11-2019 00:34:28

It shouldn't apply to either.

BISHI Publish time 26-11-2019 00:34:29

Exactly - just pointing out the hypocrisy of our Jewish member is all.

robel Publish time 26-11-2019 00:34:30

Interesting response.

Talking of hypocrisy, perhaps you could detail the number of UN resolution against Israel v the number of UN resolutions against Syria.

Matched equally by your own in the other direction I might be tempted to suggest.

It all stems from a mistake over a photograph made by the BBC conflated and seized upon by RT amongst others using faked and doctored footage to claim the BBC were 'faking' news items.
The conspiracy theorists and anti-BBC/BBC bias lobby jumped on the bandwagon and hence when we still see those links and nonsense being talked about and linked.

The BBC used a photo taken in Iraq and mistakenly attached it to an article on Syria.
The UN have investigated Syria and there definatly * were chemical weapons (sarin) used delivered by rocket attack. The issue is there is conflicting information on whether it was the rebels or the government.

* just spotted Sonics post - they same info I read up on from the UN inspections and investigation teams.
