I'd rather see him discuss ways of preventing the crimes in the first place (changes in social behavior/harsher sentences, etc etc), rather than the sticky plaster route of more visible police.

Yes, I wonder what "colours" that response.

Very simple. Khan is and has been in charge with the powers to do something. Johnson hasn’t got the job yet.

So you're happy with Johnson saying that we need more Police, because he's not yet actually responsible to do anything about it, but you're not happy when Khan says it because he's the Mayor?
I'm sorry but that just comes across as bias against Khan because of who he is, not because of the message he's portraying.

Khan is in charge of a £16 Billion budget - Boris is not.
The Mayor found £300,000 to put on a pool party, and £20,000 to gift to a 2nd referendum campaign group, £200,000 for a flashy new website, £175,000 for a PR campaign on why ‘London is Open’, £1.7 million for new water fountains. Not forgetting the £9 million for new hires and pay rises for City Hall staff, which could have funded 150 police officers.

Khan has repeatedly asking the government for additional funds to tackle knife crime, and has been working with the teams in Glasgow for advice.
The bit lacking has been government funding! As you have hopefully read in the news, Khan has been topping up the police budget by selling off buildings because they have been so short of cash to try and do what he can, but they have run out of things to sell.

How so? Boris is not a member of the cabinet with any powers or budgets right now. If he gets the PM job and doesn’t do what he has promised the he will be damned, just like Khan is now.

One of these is in power and as such has a budget that can be directed where needed most . The other has just campaigne words and promises that I expect when and if he comes into power you will be all over once he does not deliver upon them .
Khan has not delivered on his promises for mayor of London and is going backwards on this front .
We can all rip Boris apart soon enough I feel data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 .

Shall I simplify the question? Both men have called for an increase in Police numbers to help tackle violent crime in London. In the case of Khan, you've both previously questioned his reasons for this and accused him of deflection etc.In the case of Johnson, he's getting a virtual round of applause for suggesting the same thing.
It doesn't matter if Johnson isn't part of the Cabinet, I'm just stating that they're saying the same thing but getting different responses.

See above.I'm not pulling Johnson apart for not delivering, I'm suggesting that posters on here have very selective responses, depending on who's putting forward the suggestion, which is laughable.
