Am I missing something. Was there a further story behind this image that explained about the background and who these people are and what they stand for?
Surely I must be missing something as otherwise I really don’t get how such comments can be made just on that one photo.

they're political activists , they're wearing the party badge, they're certainly fair game considering the attitudes of so many of those activists - usually more extreme than those they campaign for, no wonder Nige called them low quality people, yet they still lick his bottom and thank him for the opportunity
EDIT ... if there was a photo/meme of badge wearing Momentum people, I'd probably do similar pisstaking, perhaps something about trustafarians

There is a video available too.The basic premise of the joke was that these two fans of Farage's Brexit Party and UKIP had made the time to fly back to the UK from where they live in Benidorm to support the one trick Party fighting to take us out of the EU, and potentially lose some of the benefits they currently enjoy. In the video they are actually torn over which Party to vote for and are worried that the votes for UKIP/Brexit Party will be split, and therefore dilute their impact.
It's a joke/satirical point, not sure why there's so much agonising about it.

I was asking what the joke is. That is all.
The agonising is more like astonishment and stereotyping regarding the people mentioned in it. I’m still stunned how shallow some people reaction is towards these people just because they support a political party.

Look again at the original picture and the text.
Mocking them for not being "mixed and diverse".
So it's only racism if the word race is mentioned?

Maybe the video would explain it better, I’ll get a link. The joke is really just the idea that two people, who clearly benefit from EU membership and the benefits it brings, would actively support a Party who’s only campaign promise is to get Britain out of the EU so they therefore appear to cutting off their noses to spite their faces. It’s not stereotyping, it’s a response to direct comments they themselves made.
In a similar way, if I saw a video of an EU national in Britain deriding freedom of movement and EU migration I’d think they were equally ridiculous.

The “mixed and diverse” comment was a quote from Farage, followed by the comments made by the couple in the photo and their residential status.

Was just speaking for myself, however going back to the meme, no problem with that text if it's genuinely quoting Farage. It's satire, they're political activists, not mere supporters/voters - fair game.

I guess I don’t get the joke because I would vote the same way.....and I don’t see that as cutting off my nose to spite my face at all. I see it as best for the country, and if it means I’m a little bit inconvenienced by doing some paperwork then so be it.
