They used to have a channel on Sky. Dave Kilminster's DVD could be a useful way to get you making acceptable sounds without loads of theory.

Jamie Humphries is a good guy so maybe one of these as well if you like the songs included.

Well the reviews seemed stable enough for me and then I was reading a few threads on here last few weeks where people recommended going to a shop to try so I did that too and knew it was definitely a hobby I wanted to get into.

Thanks for that! I have the Dave Kilminsters one in my basket at the moment not sure what to pair it with looking at the other one's now.

having just started myself

found this site really useful to go straight on to a couple of chords
Em Guitar Chord - Free Guitar Lessons

started watching the 'dummies' guide video but didn't find it very clear where to stick your fingers for the chords

so far I've stuck with the above linked site and you tube.....plus I've found it handy to print out some online chord charts and use them for a quick reminder/reference

I'm sure it's OK for what it is but there's always some risk buying used, especially unseen. It seems to be available for £199 new in RH although the LH may well incur a premium, so with postage it doesn't seem amazing value even at the starting price. Obviously the case adds value though.

I've mentioned before (& been shot at) the lack of a scratch plate. While it's blindingly obvious that you shouldn't be hitting the body with a pick, you may well do. Ask yourself how many driving school cars you see with no bumpers fitted? OK, bit of an exaggerated analogy but you get the point.

I also see it has no fret marker at the 3rd fret. That could hinder you a little while you're finding your way around.
