Player of Games was my first Banks book, and I still think that's also one of his best (sci fi)!

I think I just found song of stone a bit boring more than anything else- but I was expecting something similar to the wasp factory so I felt disappointed....

Feel good books are personally not for me (I'm into dark and morbidly twisted books https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/joypixels/[email protected]/png/64/1f644.png) but thank you for your replies https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/joypixels/[email protected]/png/64/1f642.png

I do have vague memories of the Kyleakin ferry but we used to go to Plockton regularly as our cottage was in Duirnish https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/joypixels/[email protected]/png/64/1f60a.png

Duirnish is nice , full of Highland Cows , trouble is every single car going from Kyle to Plockton has to go through the little village ! I love Plockton though - my son was part of the Amateur Dramatic Society there for a couple of years , got through to the final in East Kilbride 3 years ago .

I've read the opening chapter of The Bridge , looks a bit dark not sure about twisted ! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Was a sad day when the Ferries had to stop running [ October 1995 ] - our son was born on the 2nd October 1995 so was just 2 weeks old when the Bridge opened .
