I've not stayed at any of those hotels but been in them all.
To be fair - all the hotels on the strip in Vegas are excellent IMO and you get a lot for your money.
The bars, restaurants, shops, shows, theming etc they all have can keep you entertained for ages.
It is surprising just how long it takes you to walk along the strip isn't it, due to the sheer size of the buildings.
The last time we went to Vegas the LINQ area was just in build, so looking forward to hanging out there too as some nice bars and food places there like Yardhouse & a few others - plus the wheel of course data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Wheel was good, the whole area around the LINQ was nice and chilled. Lots of nice bars/restaurants etc

Did you go on the wheel ?

I see you can get a pod with an all inclusive bar for extra cost lol data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

yeah - that's what we did - inclusive bar is OK - there was about 20 people in our pod and we got 3 very quick "drinks" but there was nothing special about it in terms of a bar etc. Woman just firing out drinks as fast as she could. Takes 30 mins to travel round.

So worth doing the bar for novelty or just go for a standard pod would you say on reflection ?

Appears to be an extra $15 each for the bar pod.

Bar was fine and the usual price of drinks in Vegas is around $8/9 a drink so at $15 difference I say go for it.

Nice one ... it just adds a little something extra to the experience too I guess doesn’t it data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Check Viator website for deals. Used them for loads of stuff and they were super fast at refunding when one of our activities got cancelled..

Does anyone know of any good hotels in Downtown, other than the Golden Nugget, which is the only one I know about- its nothing special really but good enough and the thing is its on Freemont Street. So any other good ones wrothy of mentioning, that allow you to step out onto or close to, Freemont Street ?

Downtown is a substantially different experience to The Strip and also is more historical/iconic.

On a longer visit, there is something to be said for maybe staying in two hotels,- one on the Strip that you fancy and one in Downtown for a time, to experience being there. Or three hotels ! Why not ?One Strip, then Downtown, then a different one on the Strip, if the trip is long enough. Or maybe you're doing a country desert driving tour and come back to Las Vegas for your return flight, in which case, a different hotel for that.

I've never stayed Downtown, but on my second trip we did stay in 2 strip hotels.

3 nights in the MGM Grand, then spoiled ourselves with 3 nights in the Bellagio.
