Is it a traditional credit card, or a ore-load card?

As those 24/7 card only pumps abroad have no internet connection so cannot verify you have the money.

Its a pre load card, I haven't used it abroad, in the UK it takes £1 at point of sale and the balance a day or 2 later.

Slightly off topic, but I remember struggling trying to pay for fuel with my UK issued Amex in Florida at the pump in the boondocks st 3.00am and my postcode format didn’t follow the zip code options which I had to key in.

Good times

UK is different. France especially has a lot of unmanned pumps. And petrol stations in Italy close for 2 hours between 12 noon and 2pm, so if you need fuel, you need a proper credit card or hang around until they open data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I genuinely have learned something tonight

Monzo have switched to current account style debit cards. Obviously no harm having options as long as you’re not paying fees

i've been using the revolut card and can't fault it so far
a couple of places didn't accept it but i had my credit card as a backup
the problem i am having is remembering PIN numbers!
i've already had to order a reminder for my main card as i was using the revolut and it just went from memory data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
the only limitation with the revolut is 200 cash withdrawals a month (fee free)
always nice to have a bit of cash and 200 is normally more than enough though

You can view your Revolut PIN via the phone app.

Starling is much better than revolut. 0.5% interest paid on credit balances too

Revolut charge 2% for atm withdrawals ! Also charge £4.99 for the card.

Revolut doesn’t currently have a bank license, so you’re not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. With Starling, you’re protected for up to £85,000.

Revoult only charge after you’ve used the free limit.
