Yeah you're right there, on the twisty roads a better driver can take a cars power out of the equation to a certain extent.

I've seen it on track days where a better driver in an underpowered car has put people in supercars to shame.

Hi there...the post and the error contained was made at 5.50 a.m. today when I'd had about 6 hours sleep in the last 48 hours,so I'm sure we can overlook the semantics.

That aside, the points about braking and grip are very valid,as is the driver, and a lot of people spend money on extracting power, without ever considering things like braking and handling.

Adamf how does it feel knowing you for what you spent on your punto you could have something similar to this parked on your driveway?

Just a thought, but let's not poke too much fun.

Adam has obviously enjoyed doing a bit of spannering and none of us really do this from the value for money aspect anyway!

Im not poking fun it's a genuine question?

He's got the punto which obviously he's happy with but he could have a car that's better in every way I can see apart from maybe the satisfaction of tinkering with it yourself.

The Punto is "different" and "unique" whereas that BMW is epitome of dullness (even if it's a very good car).

That's probably the reason why. Everyone needs a hobby of some sort.

Then again, an acquaintance of mine has spent at least £20k modifying his E46 M3, not least fixing the chocolate brakes that BMW fitted.
