Disappointed with my new car
I recently changed my car for an E Class 220d AMG Line Mercedes and after a couple of months I am disappointed.Firstly, it seems to be an impenetrable mix of buttons and switches, many of which do the same thing.
There is no touch screen, just a big knob (not me) controlling things in the middle of the centre console.
The hands free phone system is awful.
The voice activated sat nav doesn't understand me.
It's just not as good as my old car in pretty much every way. Luckily it goes back in 2 years. Just thought I'd share my initial thoughts. Thought I'd seen a video of you trying to use your sat nav...
Angry Irish driver completely loses it when his Sat Nav fails to understand him | Daily Mail Online Personally I wouldn't want touch screen. A nightmare to operate whilst driving, more than happy with the centre located dial on my idrive. Your not alone I have had an A class diesel for a few months and it's going the journey, I have had the same problems as you an I find the seats unbelievably uncomfortable to the point that I can feel the frame through the cushion and leather, so of I go back to Volvo. Having had it and lost it I really miss it. Just trying to pre-set a radio station is difficult. Making a phone call, forget it.
I used to be able to say "call proctologist" and boom, ring ring...there he was. I've had a B Class for 6 months , it doesn't set me on fire , just transport , well specced but the anti crash thing doesn't like my system of car in front turning right , no need to brake he'll be gone when I get there
Twice now it's slammed on when my brain used it's 35 years of experience to say it's OK
The seats are OK but I'm sorry you hear yours are a PITA Might be a stupid question but why didn't you have a play before you got it? Hi. I took one for a decent test drive and it seemed okay but I didn't really get to use the gadgetry. As soon as it arrived I knew I was not going to enjoy it.The cruise control stick is right underneath the wiper and indicator stalk and I accidentally knocked it coming off a roundabout and set the speed limiter to 15mph. I couldn't work out how to turn it off. Yeah mate that's a bit of a design flaw for me also, much better having the CC on the steering wheel For what it's worth I felt the same about my car an 16 plate A6 Avant when I got it, the user interface is shockingly bad...who ever designed it never actually tried it! After a couple of days I was longing for my Octavia VRS Estate and it's 9 months not and I still feel the same, thankfully I've over got it on a 2 year lease so I'm counting the days.
