They are amazing! I was out five hours today (going to various places) and I had no problems at all. We have had a good few inches up here and I've driven on ice, compacted snow and several untreated surfaces. All without a hitch. On Friday there was an accident on a steep bank and I had to go through a small village to bypass it. With all the fresh snow you couldn't see where the road ended and the path started. We just coasted along as if there was no snow.
We ended up going for the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2, tread pattern is like the Predator's forehead data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Worth every penny.
Yes, I see since Michelin launched the cross-climate, Goodyear came along and stole their thunder - winning awards.
I’ll probably go for a set on my lads car next winter - he won’t be driving in any serious weather this year, even if he does pass his test at the end of the month!
I think they are okay in the summer, but they are excellent in rain, ice and snow. I'd happily buy them again.

My old 'go to' tyres were Uniroyal Rainexpert. I used to love those.
I tried a pair of cross climates on the front just after reading comparison tests and cost was around the same a corner, nearly two years ago. Said they returned a better MPG than the other premiums and handling was better than some of the premium I had been using, summer (!) and winter (obviously).
So far so good. MPG on the long run increased. Not a huge amount overall but enough to feel good about it and not missed a beat in any wether on the motorway including some very heavy downpours.
Unfortunately they do not go down enough in size for the smaller car.
Didn't know goodyear we're at it as well. Might see what they do.
