I'm going to change the tyre as there are tears in the sidewall in both spots. I'll change both sides so that's £220 already. But I'm more concerned about the wheel. That's a lot of metal missing.I'll see what they say but do people think I may be looking at a refurb, a repair or new wheel ? If it's cosmetic onlyI'll just give it a touch up with paint until I'm feeling rich. Refurb would fix it.
All four wheels on my Audi look like that data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Yep. Proper refurbishers can add back metal that they can then cut back to the original profile before painting/polishing. Or you could look for a used undamaged wheel. Don't worry IG, that's nothing, the damage will be filled and smoothed no problem. If the wheels are in general good nick they can sprayed and blended it in. Ouch how did you do that. Obviously let the wife drive data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 I take full responsibility. May I offer you the following?
https://www.avforums.com/attachments/1569705548353-png.1200572/ I imagine it’ll be safe to fit new tyres. You could just ask the fitter on Monday?
If this is on the Skoda then I reckon you’ll easily get refurb ones.
But try not to do it again, eh? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Going to the fitter on Wednesday as the tyres are coming from Black Circles.
Mrs IG volunteered to do the 250 mile round trip to take our daughter and friends to a Uni Open day in the VRS as her Leaf doesn't have the same range. Her driving record is much better than mine
