Maybe a story with potential but terrible filmmaking

The story is terribly pieced together. Hard to follow. You get useless pieces of info to follow the story and many times, you're missing important 'keys' to understand the story. And my pun is just as bad as the show. The dialogues are flat, the acting is boring. The mom is useless. Basically everyone except Bode and his siblings is useless. I keep watching because I feel the story could be good but... I'm almost disgusted at the terrible dialogues. I recognize a few actors from Step Up Highwaters and I know they can play way better.
It seems the story is all about magic but I don't see much magic in each episodes, more like a teenage show and some magic in it.
