Fruit Basket fans may not want to read my review but when I heard they were remaking it, I was like "oh ok". I was pretty iffy about it since I'm not a fan of remakes if the original was good and honestly, the 2001 version was pretty good. When I watched the first episode of the 2019 version, I was pretty disappointed.
Regardless of the anime being turned into a gorgeous colourful one, the format of the story was the same and they used the original voice actors like as if they transferred their voices from 2001 to the 2019 series. They could've done this as a sequel in retrospect. Honestly this in my personal opinion, really ruined the original even if it wasnt glossy as it's new version. I know I'm gonna get rocks thrown at me but thats what I saw from both sides of the animes versions.....
