Why is everyone hating on Emma?

A lot of the people that are writing reviews harp on the bad acting of the cast, and how they don't like Emma.

I just started watching the show on The-N a few weeks ago, and the only episodes I really like watching are the ones that focus on Emma, Sean, or both.  They are the most interesting characters to me.

Granted, Emma's acting could use some work, but I still think she does a decent job.  Sean is an excellent actor.  The dynamic between them is rather interesting, though it looks like the writers are finally throwing out their relationship.  The previews for the next few episodes have Emma kissing the new guy on the show.

Perhaps they'll thrown an angle in where Sean gets jealous and somehow they get back together.  It seems that Emma is always trying with him despite his shortfalls, which is admirable.  But with Sean rolling with his new crowd, I'm not "aboot" to bet on it going on any longer.

For the rest of the cast, I think JT is hysterical, and Spinner is funny despite his horrible acting (dipping his armpits in the water fountain after being told he has bad BO).  Craig is a great actor, and Ashley looks really ugly in her new goth get-up.  The rest of the cast is ho-hum really.

While Degrassi isn't an amazing show, its certainly above average.  I can't help but laugh when they say "aboot" and "soooory."  Those crazy Canadians.
