Anyone plugged a washing machine in to a Smart plug?

Got a couple TP Link plugs in the home but wanted to add another one for the washing machine.  Idea being I can chuck a load in as I got to work, and then turn it on as I leave work, so it's done when I get home.  (Hasn't been sat wet for 7 hours).

Concerned whether it'll be safe to handle the current.  

For example of the SONOFF plugs are only rated to 10 amp not 13.

The max power figure works out at around about 10 amps.

Conversely the 13A load figure works out at just shy of 3000W.

Quite a disparity seeing as they are directly linked using Ohms Law

That makes more sense. 2.2KW is far too low for a load of 13A.

Yep should be absolutely fine, It's rated the same as the plug and socket so anything with a plug will be fine.

Have you checked what the washer does when turned on at the mains? My washer wouldn't start until you press the go button so wouldn't work with a smart plug.

Mine and many washers have a built in delay timer. Mine will add hours (up to 12 I think) onto the program length. Press start as normal and it starts counting down to the time the program will take and then start as normal. As pointed out above some (many/most?) washers will not do anything if power is provided at some point during the day. Older ones with hold on power buttons and electro- mechanical timers maybe work ok.

Pretty sure no timer but also pretty sure it'll work given power.  Guess I'll try it with an existing TP LINK Plug and see.

Nothing yet mate. Only have two TP Link and one is currently being used for the Christmas tree and the other down the back of the cupboard to turn my amp on.  Was trying to pick a new one up but they are really expensive at the moment.  I paid £15 for the first one I bought, new from Amazon.  They were £10 Black Friday 2017 - now £25 on Amazon.  

A set of 3 went on Ebay yesterday for £77.  They are £54 a set on Amazon.  WTF?

Yup they were doing 3 for 36 at Argos on bf, so wish I had stocked up

Not much help I know but I have 6 or 8 (not sure but ‘many’ and probably most or all pass through as I hated them without) of these things in a cupboard as I have moved in networking techniques and requirements. It would of course cost more in postage to send them over than you buying 3 of  them retail over there - but hey the offer is there if you wanted
