Can I convert DAB radio to receive Internet Radio stations?

Wasn't sure where to ask this question. I have a Marantz MCR610 which has Internet Radio and picks up some of our favourite stations from Spain. This is in the dining room but in the Kitchen we just have a FM/DAB radio which has an aux socket.

Is there an adaptor or a way of making this able to pick up Internet stations as well? I'm guessing the answer  is no otherwise why would you need to buy an Internet Radio if you can convert DAB.

You will not find an adaptor to do that.

Assuming that's an auxillery input socket, not output, you're talking about just treating the kitchen radio as a speaker.

Any device that can connect to an internet radio station and has an analogue audio output would be fine, such as a tablet or phone.

Thanks. So I have an aux to aux lead. Are you saying that if I connect this to my radio and presumably to the headphone socket on my phone and then use a radio App that i can do it this way.?

If the auxiliary socket on the radio is an input rather than an output then yes.

If it is an input then it might be worth tracking down a Chromecast audio instead of plugging in your phone directly. I'm not sure about in Spain but they're easy to get in the UK.

An old mobile phone (assuming you upgrade your phone every few years you may have the previous one lying around serving no useful purpose). No SIM card needed, just WiFi turned on on the phone and an internet radio app running on it.
[Old phones all had headphone outputs - unlike quite a few current ones which now often lack this, expecting you to use bluetooth or a USB-headphone adaptor lead.]
