How come that I can go onto a website (in this case Emirates holidays), select a week for September next year and then after I've looked around I revert back to the same search parameters and the holiday has increased by several hundred pounds per person which multiplied by 3 travellers is ridiculous. I know nearer the time of booking that they jump up daily but within minutes!

It's as if the www knows I'm looking for holidays and punishes me for not booking one the first time I see it!

It happens with most holiday and flight operators websites.

How and why though? It's as if they give you a glimpse of a really good price and then remove / increase it if you don't buy there and then.

I see adverts when browsing the internet for items I've previously looked at like clothes etc so if the holiday websites know I'm looking does that affect the price and go against me.

Wonder if clearing internet history / cache / whatever it is might work.

Yes it does go against you because it remembers that you have been looking so deems you as keen and so up the price goes. If you search in a private browser (incognito etc) that shouldn't happen.
