Where to live near London? Safe, green and open-minded place

Hi all,
Could you please give me tips on places near London to buy a flat/house 250K cash, in a safe area, green and open minded. We are both europeans
I love London, want to relocate there but I'm scared of crimes and pollution!

Your budget is low, your fear of crimes and pollution are in line with any over-populated capital city.

Stick to Boston, or Moldova.

Have a look in the Watford area. Great location with road,rail and air travel all very convenient. A lot of Europeans seem to like this area.

Havering and other areas of Essex. Masses of open spaces, parks etc etc plenty of main roads and train lines into London, plenty of other European communities, reasonable house prices etc etc . Just outside London, but known as Greater London and still inside the M25.

anywhere near Willesden Green Tube station? You have gladstone park and it's still in zone2. 250k might be a struggle though for anything other than a studio

It's quite a big question, will you need to commute to work? Near a tube station? Motorway? That should factor into your decision too.

I have always felt very safe in London, just be sensible as you would in any city but there is no real need to be concerned about crime. It's definitely safer than a lot of places.

Where I am is safe, green, and as there aren't not many of us but I am open minded I think that counts as a majority

Unfortunately £250K whilst a significant sum of money wouldn't get you a mid-terrace cottage I'm afraid

PS. I am intrigued, what does open minded mean?
